Shipping

Want to know all about shipping of your Curlicue NZ Jewellery order?  You’re in just the right place!

Woohoo! Shipping is FREE for all orders within New Zealand!!

All national orders from my online jewellery shop are shipped by Pass the Parcel courier service or NZ Post, depending on your location. All international orders are shipped by NZ Post, and can be delivered to customers all over the world.

Each piece of jewellery comes individually packaged in a lovely gift box. I never include printed receipts or invoices, so you can safely order gifts to be sent directly to a gift recipient.

All Curlicue NZ Jewellery items are hand made by me at my home in Auckland, New Zealand and those items that are reproducible will still vary slightly in size, colour and pattern to those visible in the online store. Therefore please keep in mind that some small imperfections may be present – this is not seen as a fault.

Hopefully you will also see that any small imperfection is part of what makes a personally hand-made item unique and distinctive.

Curlicue NZ handcrafts all products within 1-3 business days of payment receipt.

Oftentimes, orders can be created faster than that but I can’t guarantee a faster processing time.

If for some reason this cannot be done, I will contact you to let you know.

I make every single piece myself, by hand, from individual materials – you are not getting a factory-made piece.

Made to Order vs. Pre-Made

Check a listing carefully to understand if a product is pre-made and ready to ship or if the product is made to order.

Both are handmade but the pre-made is a piece that I have already created and it is shipment ready, while the made-to-order products take 1-3 business days to be created especially for you.

Look for the following image if a product is ready for shipment immediately:

Orders within NZ will take 1-3 business days to process (in order to create your jewellery) and then sent by courier with Pass the Parcel. The courier will usually take 1-3 days to deliver your parcel to the North Island and 2-5 days to the South Island.

A signature is normally required upon delivery, unless you state a safe place to leave it.

There is no additional surcharge for deliveries to rural addresses, however they currently don’t deliver to the Hauraki Gulf Islands, so instead I would use NZ Post.

I happily support and love my international customers! Please remember that all my products are created and sent from New Zealand (located to the south-east of Australia), so it might take a little longer to get to you.

I currently have two options for international shipping:

  1. International Airmail
  2. International Courier (Express)

International Airmail:

Items may be sent to over 220 destinations including PO Boxes and Rural Areas worldwide.

This option is cheaper, but is not tracked and is the slowest option.  Delivery target is 3 – 10 working days, though it can take up to 4 weeks, especially during busy times (such as Christmas).

International Courier (Express):

Items may be sent to 46 key countries around the world.

Delivery target is 2 – 6 working days. Tracking is available and a signature is required upon receipt.

This option is more expensive, but it is definitely faster and can be tracked through the postal system.

Within NZ:

Shipping is FREE for all orders.

I currently use Pass the Parcel, which is a courier service and a signature is required upon receipt of the item.

If no one will be home, please give me an alternative address where someone can sign for the delivery. If this is not possible, please let me know.

Overseas:

I do my best to apply fair shipping costs. Shipping costs are calculated automatically during checkout, depending on where your item is to be delivered. You can order and pay for an item from overseas and have it delivered here within New Zealand or vice versa.

International Airmail –

Delivery target is 3 – 10 working days. No tracking. Sends to over 220 destinations including PO Boxes and Rural Areas worldwide:

Australia $5
Rest of World $10
International Courier (Express) –

Delivery target is 2 – 6 working days. Tracking included and signature required upon receipt.

Sends to 46 key countries around the world:

Pass the Parcel NZ Delivery Targets:

Rest of World: {Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Uruguay} International Airmail: 6 – 10 working days; International Courier: 5 – 6 working days

All International products less than $200 will be sent through NZ Post International Airmail (unless you upgrade to the courier).

If your order value is over $200 or is a Custom Order, you will need to purchase the International Courier option to ensure your purchase is delivered safely.

If your package does not turn up within the expected timeframe, please contact me and I will do my best to rectify the situation! However, please be aware that I don’t consider a parcel ‘lost’ in the post until it has been a full 30 days from the date of shipping, and I will not replace an item sooner than this.

New Zealand:

If your package has not arrived within 1 week, please contact me and I will in turn contact Pass the Parcel.

You may also need to check your neighbours and around your property in case the courier has left it somewhere they considered to be ‘safe’.

International:

I am shipping from New Zealand. Packages to the rest of the world may take up to 2-3 weeks to arrive.

If your package does not turn up within the expected timeframe, please contact me and I will do my best to rectify the situation!

However, please be aware that I don’t consider a parcel ‘lost’ in the post until it has been a full 30 days from the date of shipping, and I will not replace an item sooner than this.

All Curlicue NZ purchases come lovingly packaged in their own beautiful gift box. The whole box is then gift-wrapped, and protected in re-purposed bubble wrap before being placed inside either a brown environmentally friendly kraft card padded mailer (for overseas) or a compostable courier bag (within  New Zealand) to ensure it’s safe passage.

Not only do these boxes make perfect packaging for gifts, they’re a great place to store your jewellery to help keep it free from tarnish and dust. Click the link to find out more about my Jewellery Packaging.

Premium Gift Wrapping is also available for an additional fee. These items are wrapped in silver wrapping paper and placed within a small woven flax bag (kete).  A small handmade gift card is also included, there are currently 8 different image options. This is an excellent option if sending a gift to someone – either in NZ or overseas.

Simply add your message to the comments box at checkout and I will hand write your message into your card. Your gift may then be sent straight to your recipient – easy as that!

Please note, currently my regular sized gift boxes do not fit inside my kete bags, so if the Premium Gift Wrapping option has been chosen, the gift will not also be inside a box. I hope to fix this issue soon. Thank you for your understanding.

I’m more than happy to ship your order directly to your gift recipient.

If you choose the Premium Gift Wrap option, your gift will be wrapped and placed within a small kete (woven flax bag) and a gift card (there are 8 images to choose from) is included – and I will hand-write your personal message inside.

If Premium Gift Wrap is not chosen, I can also include a small free gift-tag for your recipient, to let them know who the gift is from.

You can enter a different delivery name and address to your billing details and can indicate that this is a gift being sent directly to the recipient when you checkout.

Each jewellery piece you order will come in its own lovely Curlicue NZ Jewellery gift box. These boxes are made from a card base and a PVC lid.  Care instructions are also included in each gift box. You can find out more about Curlicue NZ’s Jewellery Packaging here.

Invoices or receipts are never included with any of my orders to save on paper waste, so there is no risk of your gift recipient seeing the receipt.

Deliveries within New Zealand can be tracked, as a courier service is usually used. If standard post is used – as it is for the Hauraki Gulf Islands, the item cannot be tracked.

All international orders using the standard airmail service are not tracked. If you wish to be able to track your items whereabouts, you will need to upgrade to International Courier (Express), which is a courier service, making it faster and trackable.

Generally, deliveries both within and outside of New Zealand are reliable and it is rare for items to go missing in transit.

However, if your order has been posted and has not arrived after 7 business days within New Zealand or 21 business days outside of New Zealand, please contact me (note that business days are Monday to Friday in New Zealand) to resolve the issue.

I do my very best to try and avoid these problems – and they are very rare – but if the items you purchased are damaged, faulty or I’ve made an error, please refer to the returns and exchanges page for details.

I’ll work with you to sort out any issues with your order, as it is my highest priority for you to be completely happy!

If your order is being sent outside of New Zealand, it’s possible it may be subject to local customs and import duties.

This is beyond my control and I am not able to provide advice as to what the situation is in your country as each one is different and the rules can, and do change.

I cannot accept responsibility for any customs issues, costs, or refusals. If you are concerned about your country’s customs laws, please investigate before purchase.

If a package comes back to me from customs in the original condition, I will of course refund your money.

Think I may have missed something? Please email me to let me know!
