I care about the world we live in and looking after our natural environment and I personally gift-wrap all of my orders.
Gift Boxes – no more:
After a few years with my gift boxes, I have decided they no longer fit my ‘be as sustainable as possible’ ethos.
The black card boxes with see-through PVC lid may continue to be used for display purposes (for example in shops), however they will no longer be used to package my online orders.
Eco Friendly Packaging
Most people keep their jewellery either in boxes, or hung up. (I’ve got both!)
Neither is ideal – in terms of moisture within the air tarnishing the metals. The only way to really keep your silver from tarnishing, is by keeping it in an airtight container or zip lock bag, in a dark drawer or cupboard. But then you can’t see it – and can’t remember what you have!
I am still considering the best ways to sustainably package Curlicue NZ jewellery. There are so many options!
I do already have some cardboard boxes and small velvet bags that I will use up whilst considering my packaging future.
For now though, I’ll just commit to all of my handcrafted pieces to come lovingly, personally and sustainably packaged by me. Each item will be wrapped in tissue – like a gift, then wrapped to ensure its safety during transit.
I would love to go plastic free! However, I still have a huge box, full of bubble wrap that I have received over the years. For now, I have decided to reuse this bubble wrap, rather than putting it all into soft plastics recycling – in the hope that you will also either reuse it or put it into soft plastics to be recycled.
What you’ll (still) get:
- An anti-tarnish tab (small square of paper that absorbs moisture)
- Jewellery Care Instructions Card – some simple tips on how to look after your new jewellery. For more information visit Jewellery Care.
- Your item will be carefully wrapped in silver tissue paper, closed with a eco friendly label
- Re-purposed bubble wrap (that I have already, no new bubble wrap will be bought) to cushion the jewellery or wrap to ensure its safety during transit.
- A recycled plastic courier bag from r3pack.
Premium Gift Wrap
The Curlicue NZ Premium Gift Wrap service can be purchased separately, and includes your gift being wrapped in tissue and wrapping paper, and placed inside a small kete (flax) bag, along with a beautiful handmade gift card – inside of which I will personally hand-write your message. ❤️
The whole item is then wrapped in (recycled) bubble wrap to ensure it’s safe passage whether couriered within NZ or posted overseas.
There are currently eight (8) different picture options for the Handmade Gift Cards (blank on the inside). You may add a personalised message free of charge, simply add your message to the comments box at checkout and I will personally hand write your message into your card and will happily send it directly to the recipient on your behalf.
No invoices or receipts are ever included with purchases, to save paper and make gift-giving hassle free!
